Here is an update on Mike Evans chasing history to become the first player to every start their career with seven straight seasons of atleast 1,000-yards receiving.
After only 56 yards receiving in Sunday's win over Minnesota, Evans now needs 331 yards to reach the millennium mark. Believe it or not, he's just caught his 51st ball of the season too. Imagine that, 1,000 yards in under 100 catches--pretty impressive.
The Bucs final three games of the season see the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15 & 17, with a trip to Detroit to face the Lions in between. During his career, Evans has 60 catches for 906 yards and eight touchdowns, while posting 6 catches for 70 yards and two scores against the Lions.
It's this writer's prediction that Evans will set the record early in Week 17's contest, finishing the season out in front of the home crowd.
