Midseason Grades

There's been some headlines coming out of Tampa this year. From Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, the Leonard Fournette pairing with Ronald Jones II, defense showing promise, and second-round draft pick, safety Antoine Winfield Jr being a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.

There's alot more to celebrate than just a 6-3 record. Here is my 2020 "Midseason Grade" for the Bucs.

Tom Brady

226/346 2398 yards 20-7(TD/INT)

At 43, Brady has 20 TDs and over 2200 yards during the first half of the season and the Bucs are again Top-10 Offense and 4th in Points Scored with 450. Not bad for an old guy. With the addition of Antonio Brown, project Brady to throw for close to 2500 yards and 25+ touchdowns to close out the season.

RoJo/Fournette Duo

171 attempts 783 yards 6 TDs

*combined*

The Bucs yield the 25th best rush attack with 783 yards in the league with Jones leading the group with 539 yards and 4 TDs. If the Bucs want to continue their success, 5 rush attempts in a game will not work.

Defense

There's not really much to complain about with the defense considering their yielding the top rush defense in the league. Allowing just over 300 yards per game, the Bucs have managed to make opposing quarterbacks and offenses suffer. With 29 sacks(2nd) and 5 turnovers (t-4th), this could statistically be one of the best defenses Tampa has seen since the glory days. You can't ask for much better but for the sake of because, they should have no problem ending as the NFL's top defense.

Most Impressive Player

Rookie Safety Antoine Winfield Jr

9 games, 34 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 1 INT 4 Pass Def

When the Bucs announced they were selecting, safety Antoine Winfield Jr, with the 45th pick of the 2020 Draft, many fans were excited to add help for a secondary that showed signs of promise at the back side of 2019. With a solid first half of the season, Winfield was awarded the midseason Defensive Rookie of the Year. If he continues, there's no doubt he'll win the award.

Grade: A
